Nursery
This week in Nursery we transformed our reading corner! The vintage suitcase was put in as a cosy book nook for us to curl up in. We loved exploring the books, turning pages and using our hands to experience the different textures on the pages!
Furthering the love of literacy, some of us went to visit the Red Bus Library this week! We each picked a book to read through, sharing the story with our adults. Some of us experimented with the interactive whiteboard. exploring how we could make marks and patterns on the screen with a stylus!
Out in the top garden we have also been enjoying the late summer sun, exploring our resources out there. We thought it was very funny to use the rubber rings to play 'peekaboo'!

Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten, we have been making our own kind of music! We explored the musical instruments, experimenting with the various ways we can make noise by tapping, shaking and hitting! We also had a go at making noises gradually louder and then softer.
We have also been engaging in some role play with the toy dolls! We explored the other resources alongside them, wrapping them in blankets and 'feeding' them with bowls and spoons!
In the construction area we spent some time with the wooden blocks, trying out lots of ways to get the shapes to fit together. We decided to place them in a long line, building a winding road that we then tried balancing on!

Pre-School
This week in Pre-School there were lots of discussions about the balloon fiesta last weekend! We talked about the different colours, shapes and number of balloons we saw, and in the art studio made our own out of paper plates!
We also got stuck into a small world invitation to play, exploring different types of construction vehicles! We noticed we could scoop and move the sand with them, working together to build our own 'house' in the sand!
We also enjoyed learning a different type of art this week, called pointillism. We talked about how these big pieces of art were actually made up of very small dots. We then tried making our own pointillist pictures, carefully making tiny dots on paper!
