Nursery
This week in Nursery, things took a creepy crawly turn as we explored Halloween themed tuff tray! We used our hands to get stuck in, feeling the foamy cob webs and discovering the hidden toy spiders. We thought it was funny to 'scare' the grown ups with them!
In the natural room we have been playing hide and seek, with our peers and our carers! We particularly enjoyed hiding under the camouflage tent, being as quiet as we can and then jumping out - boo!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have also been getting in the Halloween spirit! We have loved trying on the pumpkin costume, and in the book den we read the story 'Room on the Broom'. We were curious about all the different characters, and the events that happen in the book.
Some of us went on a trip to the Curiosity Room, which is filled with lots of interesting objects. We liked exploring the till, pressing different buttons to see what would happen each time! We also got to help the grown ups clean out the stick insect's house, adding some new leaves and twigs for them!
In the garden we were very excited as we found a snail! We looked closely at it as it slowly went past - some of us even picking it up, very carefully! We pointed out all the different body parts we could see, and name all the pretty colours on its shell!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School we have been getting stuck into all sorts of sensory activities! We had our hands full with some squishy coloured spaghetti, mixing it all together and talking about the different sensations we could feel. "It's cold!" "It's sticky!"
In the art studio we made our own paper plate pumpkins! First we painted them all orange, then used small pieces of orange, yellow and black paper and carefully glued them down to make a collage. Amazing!
In the construction area we were very busy this week, building a ball run! We focused really well on this goal, facing lots of challenges but trying new solutions to eventually complete the downhill slope - well done Pre-School!
