Nursery
This week some of us took part in a special activity with our older siblings! We all went down to the dining room and played games together with the parachute. We loved spending time with our older brothers and sisters and had snack time together!
Back upstairs we got stuck into a dinosaur themed tray, filled with lots of different materials. We tried using the scoops to move the rice, flour and pasta, noticing our movements left a trail. We also used our hands to move the toys, making them stomp across the tray!
We also got stuck into a mess-free sensory exploration, using taped down bags filled with different textures! We spent time on each one, pushing and sliding the different materials and watching as the insides moved around!

Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been exploring all the seasonal changes of autumn! In the art studio we used twigs and sticks as tools to make marks with, dipping them into paint. We enjoyed trying all the different marks and mixing the colours together!
As a group we had a go at making bird feeders for the garden! We talked about the different types of food birds need in the winter. We then took turns adding the different seeds to the fat, squishing it into yoghurt pots.
We also showed great focus this week listening to the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. This was an interactive story, as each food and character was introduced we explored a knitted version from the bag!

Pre-School
This Pre-School had a go at using conkers to paint with! We talked about how conkers grow, on horse chestnut trees in a spiky shell. We talked about how the conkers fall and the shell comes off! We had a go at rolling the conkers around in a tray with paint, to make a variety of interesting marks.
As a group, this week we talked about looking at our artwork and ways we can improve it. We learned that it's okay to make mistakes, and we can try again to make it even better! Mark showed us an example, drawing a butterfly with the wrong shaped wings and then correcting it. We then had a go, drawing lots of objects and talking about how we can improve them!
We also spent time in the garden on an obstacle course! This was a challenge for us as we navigated changing speeds, running quickly around the tyres but slowing down to balance across the beams.
