Nursery
This week in Nursery, we have spent lots of time outside in the garden! Some of us explored the mud kitchen, picking up the different pots and pants and using the hand tools to stir and pour water between them.
We also really enjoyed playing with the footballs! We did a great job of navigating the challenge of running towards the ball to kick it, and thought it was very funny when the adults kicked it back to us!
Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we have been mark-making with a big swan feather! This is great for practicing our tripod grip with our hands, which helps us develop our writing skills. We took it in turns to use the feather, dipping the end into paint and moving it across paper to make a variety of marks.
In the tuff tray, we have been further developing our fine motor skills with tweezers! We used them to carefully pick up pieces of pasta, and put them into the matching coloured pots. We showed great patience with this activity, trying again if we dropped a piece!
At the art table this week, we have been making collages! We helped cut and tear up pieces of material - and pour the glue into the pots. We spoke about the different colours available -red, white and blue - and how they matched the colours of the Union Jack flag!
Pre-School
This week in Pre-School, we got stuck into an activity tray relating to the tale of the Three Little Pigs! We read through the story as a group, seeing if we could spot any of the characters or objects from the tale on the tray! We even tried building our own houses from straw, sticks and bricks, discussing if they would be strong enough against the Big Bad Wolf!
Out in the garden we have been talking about numbers. We discussed which numbers we knew, and if we could recite them in order. We then had a go at drawing them on the tarmac with chalk!
Back inside we have spent time being creative with paint. We used brushes to mix colours together, and expressed ourselves by painting whatever shapes, lines or patterns we wanted!
