This week in Flax Bourton, we have enjoyed being creative (and messy) with flour! We approached the tray in lots of different ways. Some of us used our fingers to trace marks through the flour, some of us tried using wooden sticks and toy cars, pushing them through to make different patterns!
We also spent time playing with the musical instruments, forming our own mini Red Bus band! We had drums, a piano and a few cymbals. It became a competition as to who could make the most noise! In a quieter moment we also enjoyed a puppet showing, playing 'peekaboo' which we thought was very funny!
There was more sensory fun in the the way tray this week, as we added foam and food colouring in too. We used tools to mix it all together, watching the colours blend in a swirly pattern. We scooped up the mixture too, observing it drip back down into the tray - SPLAT!

This week in the over twos rooms, we explored a messy play tray of gloop and dinosaurs! We moved the toys through the gloop, watching at the texture stretched and pooled around them.
We also tried out the parachute, playing lots of turn taking games! We also put some of the soft balls on the parachute and shook them around, trying to keep them from falling off. This is great for our physical development and hand eye coordination!
There was more fine motor skill challenges in the tuff tray, as we used plastic tweezers to grab pom poms. We carefully navigated the sticky tape traps to pick them up, trying again if we dropped them!
We were also really interested in the magnifying glasses this week. We peeked through them at different objects - big and small - and talked to each other about how the glasses let us see all the details!
